Banaphul's sharp & strident pen

Our minds are usually split into two.

( What really happened stories)

I read this somewhere & it struck me. So I had to know who brilliantly weaved this beautiful rosary with beads of words & it was Banapul. The quote is from his short story originally written in Bengali about a lawyer Ramkishore who has a client come to him for advice and Ramkishore Babu gives it to him as professionally as he can.

Banapul was a prominent Bengali poet, novelist, short story writer, playwright & well physician too.

Balai Chand Mukhopadhyay was born in the Manihori village of Bihar in the year 1899.
Balai inherited his profession from his doctor father and lived outside of Bengal most of his life. He wrote many short stories, novels, dramas and poems. His autobiography and essays were very well-read.

Balai Chand Mukhopadhyay was a recipient of the highest civilian honour 'Padma Bhushan'.

His novels are Trina khanda, Boitorinir Tire, Niranjana Maharani, Manas Ganesha Naveen, harishchandra, kichukhon, saptarshi, Hate Bazare, Sandhi Puja, Sat Somudro Tero Nadi, Dui Pathik, Ratri, Pitamaha, Jal Taranga, Pratham Garal etc.
